Verstappen wins ahead of Gasly in Brazil

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) managed to avoid the many pitfalls of the Brazilian GP to achieve his 8th victory in F1, his 3rd of the season. A fairly boring race, the Grand Prix gained in intensity when the first safety car entered the track following the retirement due to mechanical failure of Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) who occupied 5th place.

The restart of the race offered a duel between Charles Leclerc et Sebastian Vettel which ended badly as the Ferrari drivers crashed, causing a double retirement for the Team.

The second raise further tightened the positions. If Max Verstappen retained the advantage, Alexander albon was well placed to give Red Bull a double before being sent into a spin by Lewis Hamilton.

Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) took advantage of all these incidents to climb to second place and finish a few centimeters ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

The reigning champion is under investigation for his contact and could lose his podium to Carlos Sainz Jr. (McLaren) which precedes the Alfa Romeo by Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi.

Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) finished in 7th place ahead of Lando Norris (McLaren), Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) and Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso). Kevin Magnussen (Haas) fails at the points gate ahead Nico Hulkenberg (Renault), George Russell (Williams) and Romain Grosjean (Haas). Alexander Albon must be satisfied with 15th position, ahead of only Robert Kubica (Williams). Lance stroll (Racing Point) retired following a broken wheel.

UPDATE: The stewards imposed a five-second penalty on Lewis Hamilton for his collision with Alexander Albon (Red Bull) at the end of the race at Interlagos (Brazil). In fact, Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren) climbs onto the third step of the podium, a first in his career after 101 GPs.
