Vettel in the garage: “It’s not ideal”

A slight error that costs a lot, that's the note on which Friday ended Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) at night in Singapore. The German spent a good part of Free Practice 2 in the garage of the Team after hitting the wall at the exit of turn 21.

The four-time world champion immediately returned to the pits, but the damage was done. A curious fuchsia-colored liquid escaped from the car, even forcing the mechanics to clean the area reserved for the pit-stop.

Finally ranked ninth in the session with only 12 laps on the clock, Sebastian Vettel was pragmatic a few hours later. “The negative point of this day was of course the hit against the wall in FP2. This interrupted my session earlier than expected. I lost some time, it's not ideal, but I'm happy with my feeling behind the wheel and we can push for more tomorrow. »

Sebastian Vettel remains positive, especially as the Ferrari looks to be in town. His teammate Kimi Räikkönen achieved the best performance, 11 thousandths ahead Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes). “Kimi definitely had an ideal lap, it was close today and I expect it to be the same in qualifying”, he simply said.

As for the work on Saturday to come, there is no reason to panic according to the German. “It will be crucial to find the right balance and feel the car a little better compared to tonight. I think that then everything will be back to normal. »
