Little by little, the affair fizzles out. Yesterday, Red Bull announced that Mark Webber would remain with the team next year. Sebastian Vettel now explains that there is no favoritism within the team. But where are the relations between the two teammates?

Vettel: “No driver is favored”

The story has been fueling conversations among motorsport enthusiasts for over a week now. In the hanging Hag-Webber during the last Turkish Grand Prix, which of the two drivers is at fault? Even within Christian Horner's stable, opinions differ. But many people think that the leaders of the red bull team have a slight preference for the young German, which the latter denies in an interview with BBC Sport.

“During our internal discussion, the situation was clarified, neither driver is favored” says Sebastian Vettel.

Is the hatchet really buried? Nothing is less sure. The 2009 runner-up still believes he made no mistakes, unlike many specialists.

“Everything happened very quickly, continues Baby Schumi. I had come out of the turn very well before the straight, and was on the slipstream. Then I moved towards the interior. I had already passed Mark and then tried to slowly come back to the right. At that precise moment I was in the lead, and usually it is the leader who decides where to go. We came into contact, one contact causing my abandonment. You never know what might happen. At the time you do what you think is right, and in this case, if you had to do it again, you would do the same thing, because you thought it was good. Whatever the outcome, you always learn from it. Any driver who is second and thinks he is faster and stronger than the person in front and is offered a chance takes it. It?s not like you have millions. I took my chance and unfortunately I did not see the checkered flag. I lost a lot of points. It?s never good for the championship not to finish a Grand Prix. But with the new points system, a good result can help you make a big difference.”

Apparently, Sebastian Vettel expresses no remorse for his maneuver. As Christian Horner said so well, is this collision a racing incident? which should never have taken place between two teammates. At the house of Red Bull, we will try this weekend, in Montreal, to forget this story which is so controversial.
