Vettel with podium aim at Chinese GP

Sebastian Vettel keeps realistic ambitions for the Chinese GP contested this April 12 in Shanghai, despite his victory in Sepang (Malaysia) which put an end to the series of successes of Mercedes. The conditions and nature of the Chinese route which offers significant straight lines should be more favorable to W06 Hybrid.

The pilot of the Team Ferrari therefore intends to maintain a high level of performance and concentrate on direct competition in this event which it won in 2009. “The objective is to still be very close to the best cars as was the case in Australia, fighting with Williams for the podium », declared the four-time world champion at a press conference.

Sebastian Vettel is aware that his feat achieved in Malaysia will be difficult to reproduce in the next events. “We were able to get close enough to win at Sepang, but we want to establish ourselves as the team just behind Mercedes. This includes staying ahead of Williams and Red Bull, not just in one or two races, but over the entire season. Once this is established, we can look to reduce the gap on Mercedes., added the German.
