Sebastian Vettel managed to prevent McLaren from scoring a double by taking second place from Lewis Hamilton. The Red Bull driver admits he was in no position to fight with Jenson Button.

Vettel: Button was 'unbeatable'

Starting second in the Australian Grand Prix, Jenson Button showed exemplary consistency and pace to score his 13th victory in F1. McLaren However, the double is missing, Lewis Hamilton finishing third behind Sebastian Vettel. The pilot Red Bull took advantage of the 2008 world champion's pit stop during the safety car regime following the retirement of Vitaly Petrov (Caterham) to take second position. The double world champion is satisfied with his performance even if he admits that he was not in a position to get the first MP4-27.

“I would like to congratulate McLaren and Jenson who had a fantastic race”, declared the German who finished only two seconds behind the winner. ?He was unbeatable today and I?m happy to have managed to get second place. Most people did not expect this after the qualifications held the day before. This ordeal turned out to be positive for us. We knew it was going to be difficult, taking second place with big points is important. There car has great potential. I would have really liked to achieve a better position than the one achieved yesterday (sixth place). Now we have to come and annoy them by making sure they have a tougher time next week (in Malaysia). »
