Vettel: “It came really close”

Sebastian Vettel won his 11th podium of the season in Sochi, his fourth in a row, after finishing several seconds behind Lewis Hamilton without managing to reduce the gap on the Mercedes. The pilot Ferrari mainly fought during the first laps, notably being in a duel with his teammate Kimi Räikkönen who did not make his task easy.

“I think we both enjoyed it. I must have liked it a little more than him since I finished in front”, commented the quadruple world champion in the Russian GP paddock. “A radio message would have been a bad thing because the fight could not have taken place. I knew I had a good opportunity after the second safety car entry (following Romain Grosjean's accident). "

Sebastian Vettel found an opening on the 2007 world champion by winning with authority on the inside of turn 2. « It came really close, but he was fair in giving me enough space”, recognized the German who finally won second place, while the Finn gave up after hooking up with his compatriot Valtteri Bottas.
