Vettel counts on his race pace to play for victory

Relegated to more than half a second from the poleman Valtteri Bottas, Sebastian Vettel did not find the right formula this Saturday in Abu Dhabi during the last qualifying session of 2017. The German admits in particular to having suffered in the second sector and the long straights of the Yas Marina Circuit.

« Overall, I was pretty happy with the car on the lap, especially, compared to previous years in sector two, comments the four-time world champion. But yes, I also saw that we were wasting a lot of time, so I don't know.

I guess it's probably on the straights but we have to see. Obviously it's a bit of a shame to be so far away, but tomorrow we'll see. »

The pilot Ferrari is in fact counting on a better race pace tomorrow to try to conclude his season with another victory after his success in Brazil. “In the race, I think we can be a little closer, but they (Mercedes) were very, very strong.

Winning is always possible, although here it is difficult to overtake if your speed is no different from other cars. So, let's see what this race can bring and hopefully we can put pressure on our rivals. »
