Vettel confirms he has a stake in Aston Martin

After the hats of pilot, strategist, and mechanic, we must now add that of investor to the collection of Sebastian Vettel. The pilot Ferrari confirmed this Thursday ahead of the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring that he had taken shares in the manufacturer Aston Martin

The four-time world champion will join the ranks of Racing Point in Lawrence in 2021 Stroll, who will transform it next year into Aston Martin, of which he also took control at the start of 2020. He is not the first personality from the paddock to invest in the famous British brand since Toto wolff, team principal and shareholder of the team Mercedes F1, also has marbles in the case.

« Everyone has the right to do what they want with their money, confided Vettel. Aston Martin is a publicly traded company and we can all invest in it if we want.

If you ask me if I have any shares, I do. I wouldn't tell you how many naturally. I am convinced by the project and I decided to make my contribution to it. I can't wait to see what happens next year. ».

In 2021, Vettel may no longer be the only German driver on the grid. Mick Schumacher, who will make his first official appearance on a Grand Prix weekend at Alfa Romeo in Free Practice 1, is indeed expected to be promoted to the Hinwil team (Switzerland) next year.

His compatriot was keen to encourage him before his debut in the deep end.

« He deserves this opportunity, I hope we see him in action again on another Friday, and next year in a starting role, said Vettel. He's doing a good job this season (leader of the F2 2 meetings before the end of the season, editor's note). I appreciate it very much. He's a great kid. I am convinced that he can have a great career. This is just the beginning ».
