Two pilot errors in two days for Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), who nevertheless ends the first day of the Italian Grand Prix at the top of the hierarchy. Less than 24 hours after a trivial incident during a demonstration in the streets of Milan, the German made a mistake again aboard his Ferrari, at a higher speed this time, in the Parabolic:

Arriving at overspeed, the quadruple world champion slid into the gravel trap, going so far as to scratch the pillar of his rear wing. More fear than harm ! Returning to the pits to change the aerodynamic element, Sebastian Vettel had enough time to return to the track and continue his second session on Friday.
Good luck to him because he took full advantage of it to set the best time in the peloton, two tenths ahead of his teammate Kimi Räikkönen. Not enough to make him jump for joy either. “It was a mixed day as the morning session didn’t go as planned. I wanted to ride, but we were delayed by a check of the condition of the gearbox », reveals the leader of the Reds.
Sebastian Vettel also judges the balance of the car “not yet ideal”. “But I think we can sort it out for tomorrow because it seems to be running well. I'm not completely satisfied, but I know we can improve our car because it has huge potential. »
