Vettel disqualified, Sainz inherits the podium

Taking advantage of the carnage at the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel quickly found himself at the forefront. However, he encountered Or with for more than 60 laps, being unable to overtake him on the Hungarian turnstile. At the checkered flag, the German driver fell to second place just behind the Frenchman.
Unfortunately for Aston Martin, Vettel was disqualified by the stewards a few hours after the finish. In question is article 6.6.2 of the Technical Regulations of the F1 specifying that a pilot “must have at least 1 liter of gasoline in the tank at all times during the weekend”. However, at the end of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the stewards were only able to remove 0,3 liters of gasoline from the car of Vettel.

An offense that is costly for the four-time world champion and Aston Martin. Vettel therefore loses his second place and offers it to Lewis Hamilton. The Briton slightly increases his lead in the drivers' championship. Behind it is Carlos Sainz which is accredited with 15 points for third position. Following Vettel's disqualification, everyone gained a place, which offered 10th position to Kimi Raïkkönen. The Finn from home Alfa Romeo scored his second point this season.
Note that the last time there was a disqualification for this type of infraction was at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2012 with Sebastian Vettel. He was then disqualified from qualifying.
