Vettel and Räikkönen towards penalties in Austin

The quest for a third crown for Lewis Hamilton could be made easier by the penalties which will hit the drivers of the Team Ferrari. The Italian team will make a fifth engine change on the SF15-T single-seaters of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen for the United States Grand Prix on the Texan track in Austin.

“Obviously it will involve a penalty, which is not an ideal situation, but without all these plans we would not have progressed as well this season. »
continues Räikkönen. “That was always the plan and it’s no big secret to us. Our policy is always try to have the most efficient engine at each Grand Prix throughout the season. » admits Vettel, who will see his title hopes reduced even further.

The German driver from the Maranello team must not see Lewis Hamilton score nine points more than him to hope to delay the deadline. Nico Rosberg also still remains in contention for the crown.
