Vettel and Red Bull sensational in Abu Dhabi

Sebastian Vettel quickly killed the suspense at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The pilot Red Bull took the lead at the first corner and could never be caught by his opponents. The four-time world champion had one of his best races of the season, finishing half a minute ahead of his teammate Mark Webber, who scored the third double of the season. The German seems increasingly strong at the end of the year as he signs his seventh consecutive victory, the 11th of the season, and the 37th of his career. The Red Bull leaves only crumbs for his rivals. Nico Rosberg completes the podium after resisting the return of Romain Grosjean who finished just one second away from a fourth podium in a row.

Fernando Alonso saves the furniture again at Ferrari by taking fifth place a good length from the Lotus, the driver of the Team having avoided the penalty by justifying his overtaking of Jean-Eric Vergne outside the limits of the track. The Frenchman was fighting for a good place in the points before falling in the standings and being forced to a second stop. Only the Force India drivers managed to stick to this strategy. Vijay Mallya's team is rewarded as Paul di Resta ranks sixth ahead Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, while Adrian Sutil completes the top ten between Sergio Pérez and Pastor Maldonado who fails at the points gate in front of Jenson Button. Charles Pic finished 19th between Giedo van der Garde and Jules Bianchi. Kimi Räikkönen is the only retirement to deplore, the Finn having come into contact with the Caterham of Giedo van der Garde at the first corner.
