Vettel takes stock of Räikkönen and Leclerc's chances at Ferrari

The formalization is slow to take place, however Charles Leclerc would always hold the rope to become the teammate of Sebastian Vettel in Ferrari en Formula 1 from 2019 (as we announced to you in issue n°2172 of AUTOhebdo). These increasingly strong rumors challenged the quadruple world champion, who did not hesitate to defend his current partner Kimi Räikkönen at a press conference.

« I like Kimi, we get along well, I never really had any problems with him, indicates the German. Sometimes on the track I remember hitting him, but the way we handle situations is very similar and very straightforward.", Sebastian Vettel is satisfied.

« I would love to continue this way, but the decision is not up to me. I don't know yet when (my teammate will be decided) nor when it will be. But... that doesn't matter to me. For me, I know where I will be next year (at Ferrari) but I think both drivers would suit the team. »

Charles Leclerc, whom Sebastian Vettel knows thanks to the Ferrari Drivers Academy program, has “ of a great career ahead of him. He's a good guy, he's fast and has everything you need. He can take his time (to come to Ferrari). He's young (20 years), but when you are young you are in a hurry for everything! »
