Vettel finishes testing on top in Abu Dhabi

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) concluded the second day of Pirelli testing in Abu Dhabi by having set the best time with the hypersoft tires. The vice-world champion completed the Yas Marina circuit in 1’37”551, more than nine tenths ahead of Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), his closest pursuer, who was the most diligent with 141 laps covered.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completes the top three of the day more than a second ahead of Force India drivers Sergio Pérez and Esteban Ocon who shared the wheel of the VJM10 while being among the only drivers not to have set their best times on hypersofts. Carlos Sainz Jr. (Renault) followed in sixth place.

Robert Kubica (Williams) got back behind the wheel of the FW40 to cover 28 laps and test the softest tires in the Pirelli range. The Pole finished seventh ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren), first driver more than two seconds from the reference.

Kevin Magnussen (Haas) ranked ninth ahead of Sergey Sirotkin (Williams) and Charles Leclerc (Sauber). Lando Norris (McLaren) took 12th place on the second MCL32 on track which preceded the drivers Toro Rosso Brendon Hartley et Pierre Gasly.
