Vettel: Hamilton should also have been penalized

Sebastian Vettel was found responsible for the second collision on Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan GP. After hitting the leader of the race who suddenly braked at the exit of the corner while the safety car was about to enter the pits, the driver Ferrari went up to the Briton and collided with him again (video of the incident).

“I didn’t hit him from behind on purpose, assured Sebastian Vettel on Channel 4. I damaged my front wing and I think it had some damage too. This isn't the first time he's done this. His restart was therefore very good. Being right behind him with the other cars causes a chain reaction. If I was sanctioned, I would have found it normal to penalize him too. »

The stewards imposed a 10s stop & go on Sebastian Vettel judging his maneuver “potentially dangerous”. The German also took 3 points on his license and now has nine. The leader of the Championship, who finished 4th ahead Lewis Hamilton and who now has a lead of 14 points, is only 3 points away from exclusion from a Grand Prix.
