Vettel impressed by the level of the field

The European Grand Prix seemed destined to Sebastian Vettel until the pilot Red Bull Don't give up due to alternator problem. Fernando Alonso then distinguished himself by completing a magnificent race to win one of the most beautiful victories of his career on his home soil. At the wheel of a car which still lacks efficiency against the other top teams, the Asturian took back control of the Championship taking advantage of the abandonment of Lewis Hamilton. The Championship remains undecided after eight contested races and other teams like Lotus or Mercedes are able to interfere at the outposts.

Sebastian Vettel is aware of the quality of the field offered this year and admits to being wary of several of his rivals who do not necessarily occupy the top places in the Championship. “The one who stands out the most is probably Fernando (Alonso), he’s one of the most complete drivers”, commented the German on the BBC. “Lewis (Hamilton) is really, really fast, there are really a lot of talented drivers. Michael Schumacher is also in the race, I don't think he has lost his pace. We currently have plenty of drivers who are at the same level of performance, the field is very competitive. We have had many different winners this season and all of its drivers are very competitive. If you look at the great drivers of the past like Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Jackie Stewart, they all won titles. But there are also names in our heads that remain present because they had something special. »
