Vettel: “I had a bit of success”

Sebastian Vettel offered to the Team Ferrari its first victory in more than a year by winning the Australian GP played at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne. The SF70H driver took the advantage during the stops, coming out just ahead Lewis Hamilton who stopped first after having retained the advantage of his pole.

“I wasn't really happy with my departure. My tires skidded when the lights went out and Lewis was able to start a little better, explained Sebastian Vettel after the Australian GP. I then tried to keep the pressure on so they knew we were there to fight. I had a little success when Lewis got stuck in traffic, but the tires held well and the car was efficient. »

Sebastian Vettel was able to maintain the lead of the race after the stops by maintaining Lewis Hamilton from a distance. The pilot Mercedes finally failed about ten seconds behind the Ferrari.

“We can attack more unlike last year when we lost the tires after a few laps. The tires are still deteriorating but we can stay on the attack. It was even more fun with the soft tires in the fast corners at the end of the race”, explained Sebastian Vettel.

Sebastian Vettel is logically the first leader of the Championship. With Kimi Räikkönen's 4th place, Scuderia Ferrari leads the Manufacturers' standings with 4 points ahead of Mercedes F1.
