Vettel: The RB7 was less efficient

Sebastian Vettel was the undisputed master of the World Championship of F1 This year. Unlike last season where the German was in the fight until the end to become the youngest world champion, the driver Red Bull did not do half-heartedly this time since he won eight victories, only missing the podium at the Nürburgring. With five Grands Prix remaining, he only needed one point to win his second title. Done by getting on the last step of the podium behind Jenson Button (McLaren) and Fernando Alondo (Ferrari).

If the results highlight the maturity of the world champion but also the qualities of the RB7, Sebastian Vettel emphasizes that it is mainly teamwork and the absence of errors which have borne fruit. “People are mistaken in thinking that we had a very easy season this year”, comments the German. “We had a very good car but above all an even stronger team. I find that this year's car is less efficient than last year's. »

Red Bull has only had one retirement so far with Mark Webber at Monza, unlike last year when the Red Bull was much less consistent. “We had so many races last year where we were unlucky, where we made stupid mistakes”, remembers the double world champion. “We missed a lot of points at the end of the season. A Championship is not decided over one race, it is several races put together and I think that is what makes the difference in the end. »
