Vettel: Allison's departure is a big change

La Team Ferrari parted ways by mutual agreement of its technical director James Allison replaced by Mattia Binotto. The Maranello team is looking to bounce back after a disappointing first part of the season since it did not achieve a single victory and Red Bull Racing is only a point away from second place in the Manufacturers' Championship.

Sebastian Vettel, who is champing at the bit while witnessing the supremacy of Mercedes and when Red Bull returns, hopes that these changes will have a positive impact even if the effects will take time to be seen.

“This is indeed a big change for us, recognizes the four-time world champion. I hope it's a good thing for the team. Things will be different, not in the near future, but in the weeks and months to come. James' position was too important for his replacement not to have an impact, but we don't yet know what that will be. »

Sebastian Vettel assures that he retains all his motivation even if the competition is getting tougher and tougher.

“We are behind. We have goals that we fail to achieve, admits the Ferrari driver. We always aim for victory in every race and we aim for the title as long as it is mathematically possible. But we are not stupid, but we are trying our best to turn the tide. Mercedes will not reduce the pace in the second half of the season… I always wake up a little nervous on race days. »

Sebastian Vettel is in fifth place in the Championship, four points behind his teammate Kimi Räikkönen and 82 points behind the leader. Lewis Hamilton before the German Grand Prix contested this weekend at Hockenheim.
