Vettel: 'Mercedes are on another planet'

Sebastian Vettel already seems to have made up his mind. On the lands of Team Ferrari, the German and his teammate Kimi Räikkönen locked out the second row of the grid for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza by finishing almost a second from pole achieved by Lewis Hamilton.

“It is a satisfying result to place the Ferraris in second row, even if it is not enough for our fans, but the Mercedes are on another planet and the gap with them is quite large", Sebastian Vettel told a press conference.

“I wasn’t very happy with my first attempt in Q3. I tried to do better in the second, but I was at the limit in the last corner and it took me a while to be able to accelerate again. I had lost a little time in the first sector, but I was able to regain a little time in the second”, said the four-time world champion.
