Vettel ends Hamilton's streak at British GP

Sebastian Vettel comes to put an end to the series of victories of Lewis Hamilton at the British GP by achieving his first success at Silverstone since 2009, his first with the Team Ferrari which wins for the 233rd time in F1. With his fourth victory of the season, the 51st of his career (equaling the record ofAlain Prost), the four-time world champion took seven points from Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) which is now eight points behind the Championship leader.

The poleman's race quickly became complicated after a missed start. The Briton found himself battling with Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) who hit the W09, sending it into a spin. Starting last, the reigning world champion moved up the places and took advantage of the interruptions in the race to return to the front, notably adopting a strategy of one stop against two for the winner.

Despite a ten-second penalty following his collision, Kimi Räikkönen was able to complete the podium by overtaking Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) in the last laps. The Mercedes Finn found himself in the lead of the race following the German's second stop, but he ultimately slipped in the ranking with his tires in poor condition.

Daniel Ricciardo saves a Top 5 for Red Bull while his teammate Max Verstappen had to retire in the final laps due to a mechanical problem. Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) followed in 6th place, but his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr did not have as much success since he retired after an accident while trying to overtake Romain Grosjean (Haas) in Copse.

Kevin Magnussen was able to collect some points for Haas F1 Team by taking ninth place behind Esteban Ocon (Force India) and Fernando Alonso (McLaren). Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) completed the Top 10 after taking the advantage over Sergio Pérez (Force India) in the final laps. Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) followed in 12th place ahead of the Williams de Lance stroll and Sergey Sirotkin last ranked.

Six drivers did not see the finish of the race. Charles Leclerc (Sauber) retired probably due to an error by his team during his stop. Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso) also had to dismount. Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) restarted the race by causing the entry of the first safety car after going off the track leaving the DRS open in the first corner.
