Vettel does not harbor jealousy with Alonso

Sebastian Vettel remains undefeated since 2010, the German having won three consecutive titles to become the youngest triple world champion in the history of the F1. If the 2011 Championship seemed easy for the German to win, he had to defend tooth and nail to obtain the coronation in 2010 and 2012 against Fernando Alonso. The Asturian once again failed in his conquest of a third title but he still showed off at the wheel of his F2012 who suffered from a lack of performance in qualifying. However, the public and the paddock seem dedicated to the Spaniard's cause, the vote of the Team Principals of the teams having even elected the driver of the Team as best driver of the year.

If Fernando Alonso's performances are highlighted, Sebastian Vettel does not appear jealous of his rival. “If people think that Alonso's victories are explained by his driving and mine by the car, that is also Fernando's responsibility, but that doesn't bother me”, he commented on Auto Motor und Sport. “I admire him a lot and I respect him as a driver. For me, it was clear from the start that he was going to be my opponent for the title. After winter testing, Ferrari became competitive faster than I thought. He could perhaps have won in Malaysia in the dry but he was already one of the best in Barcelona. His strength was to always be efficient even if he was almost never the fastest. »
