Vettel didn't ask for that much from Monaco

Sebastian Vettel was the second pilot to benefit from Mercedes' mistake with Lewis Hamilton to gain the advantage over the poleman of the Monaco GP. The pilot Ferrari moved behind the W06 Hybrid throughout the race and narrowly managed to beat the double world champion who was leaving the pits.

“I was there at the right time by being able to overtake Lewis when he came out of the pits”, commented the Scuderia Ferrari driver who won his 5th podium of the season. “I was a little too late during my first stop, but this 2nd place remains a superb result for the team. »

Sebastian Vettel concedes he was worried at the restart Monaco GP. “These tires (the soft rubbers) are not made to start again after being cooled. Nico and I kept our tires because we knew we couldn't attack Lewis. It was helpful for the recovery, but it was still incredibly difficult”, explained the four-time world champion.
