Vettel 'not confident on braking'

Sebastian Vettel could do nothing to prevent the Mercedes de Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas to score a double at the Italian GP. The pilot Ferrari climbed from 6th place to 3rd position to finish on the podium, finishing half a minute behind his Championship rival who took the lead for a 3-point lead.

“I thought something broke in the first corner. I didn't feel confident braking, explained Sebastian Vettel in the Monza paddock. It's a braking circuit and the last few laps didn't show the pace we could have had. We probably missed by a second per lap, but I don't have all the information yet to be sure. »

If Sebastian Vettel admits that he hoped to be closer to the Mercedes, he remains optimistic for the rest of the season with seven Grands Prix still to cover.

“I'm not worried about the gap. Monza is a special place and you have to have confidence to make a difference, said Sebastian Vettel. We knew it was going to be a tough race but we thought maybe we could be a little closer. It's not nice to see them win, but we gave everything to take 3rd place. I am very positive. »
