Vettel still not completely comfortable after Friday free practice

The four-time world champion concluded the second free session in 4th place, 6 tenths behind his teammate Kimi Räikkönen and 7 behind the reference time set by the Red Bull de Max Verstappen. Hag also only covered 24 laps in the afternoon compared to 42 for the Finn.

« The feeling is mixed after this first day, confided the person concerned when he got out of the car. I'm not yet completely satisfied with the sensations behind the wheel. We tried things and I still have to find the right rhythm so we're missing a little on the timesheet. We did our best to carry out the testing program ».

This is not the first time this season that Vettel seems to be in decline on Friday. Until now, the German has almost always been able to bounce back on Saturday, notably taking pole position from second Ferrari in Bahrain and China. Can he turn things around again between now and qualifying?

« Kimi felt better on one lap so he's the favorite for pole, replies Vettel. I'm not completely in harmony with the car but if we can find the key and combine that with the new engine, we can take a real step forward. We will have to work hard this evening to best prepare for the next day. ».

At Ferrari, only Vettel has a new internal combustion engine this weekend in Montreal.
