Vettel regrets lack of running

With only 21 laps completed today, Sebastian Vettel like the other drivers suffered from the lack of testing which can be explained by the heavy rain which disrupted Friday at Silverstone. The pilot Red Bull is credited with the 13th fastest time in the second session after choosing like the other drivers to limit his time on track to keep his wet tires for the rest of the weekend. This strategy adopted by the entire paddock offered a very sad spectacle to the many spectators present despite the unpredictable weather.

“I think we were able to save our tires for the race by limiting the running, but there was too much water this afternoon”, confirms Sebastian Vettel. “It was quite difficult in these conditions but it's more than a shame for the spectators who were waiting in the stands for the cars to pass when we didn't come. We went out a bit towards the end of the session, a bit for nothing, because we couldn't test anything. We'll see what happens tomorrow. The weather will be the biggest factor determining the rest of the weekend. I hope to be able to ride tomorrow morning to be ready for qualifying. »
