Vettel: getting back on track, the best thing for everyone

The Italian-Canadian captain of industry died this week at the age of 66, triggering great emotion in the paddock. In Budapest, members Ferrari sport a black armband, while a band of the same color bars the front axle of the SF71H Hag and Kimi Raikkonen. The Prancing Horse flags that usually fly atop Italian receptions are at half-mast.

In these difficult circumstances, Vettel finished the opening day with the absolute best time, set during Free Practice 2.

« I think getting back in the car is the best thing for everyone because we know what to do., commented the German after the two sessions. The situation is obviously not obvious. The work day went well and it's a good thing to have more homework this evening to occupy the mind and concentrate on the Grand Prix ».

Elsewhere, Vettel is coming out of a painful weekend on a sporting level with the loss of a victory which held out his arms in Germany.

« It's good to do a series of races, it allows you not to think about anything else, he added. I hope we can make this race count by erasing the memory of Hockenheim ».

Si Mercedes, who took control of the two championships last Sunday, appeared behind this Friday, the quadruple world champion is wary of his reaction, as much as of the Red Bull, dashing on the winding Magyar circuit during the first laps of the wheels.

« I think it will be very close this weekend, concluded Vettel. Red Bull looks more competitive here, which is what we expected on this type of track, but it remains very competitive with Mercedes as well. ».
