Vettel struggled with his Ferrari SF1000 in the race

Si Charles Leclerc achieved an excellent operation by taking second place in the Austrian Grand Prix yesterday, Sebastian Vettel did not experience the same scenario.

Better placed than his Monegasque teammate after the first tests, the German did not find a Ferrari SF1000 in line with his expectations in qualifying (11th and eliminated from Q2) and especially in the race. As evidenced by a spin against Carlos Sainz (McLaren).

“It was a disappointing race for me, even though we knew before the start that it would be difficult, admits the four-time world champion. I struggled throughout the race. The balance and speed I had on Friday are gone and I was having a really hard time keeping the car on course.

To be honest, I'm happy I only spun once. It was very difficult. It was very tight and I think Carlos spun and I was on the limit because I wanted to be as close as possible and I lost the back.

I lost the rear a few times today, so yeah, like I said, I'm glad it only happened once. »

10th under the checkered flag, Vettel saves a meager point and must inevitably wait impatiently for the developments planned for the third Grand Prix of the season in Hungary. Until then, next weekend could still be complicated for the German if Ferrari does not find a remedy for the delicate behavior of its car.
