Vettel satisfied despite his 3rd place on the grid for the French GP

Sebastian Vettel will have a lot to do to maintain its place as leader of the Championship. The pilot Ferrari will start from third row on the Paul-Ricard grid while his direct rival Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) won his first pole in France. The German lost more than three tenths behind.

“I tried to improve on my last attempt but I couldn't do better because I was too aggressive, explained Sebastian Vettel. The conditions had changed and we were no longer as efficient. I still have to be satisfied with this third position on the grid because our car was competitive over the long stints. »

“The track is not like Barcelona. I hope we don't make one more stop than the others because the pit lane is long here and a stop costs a lot of time. We haven't touched the car too much, but the conditions have changed a lot.", added the former resident of Red Bull Racing.

The Ferrari driver can in any case be satisfied with his day after being behind during testing. His teammate Kimi Räikkönen was only able to take sixth position on the grid.
