Sebastian Vettel remembers well the 2012 season where he won his third consecutive title at the end of his duel with Fernando Alonso. Red Bull Racing had not emerged as a big favorite at the start of the year which had been marked by the victory of seven different drivers during the first Grands Prix before the second half of the season saw the German string together victories with four consecutive successes starting of the Singapore Grand Prix. “I don't think it will be very different from last year, the level will still be very close and we will not have two or three drivers fighting for victory,” commented the three-time world champion on the official website of discipline. “Then, in the second half of the year, some favorites will stand out. To be part of it, you will have to score points in each race by being consistent, that's what gave us the title in 2012."
However, if Sebastian Vettel had to wait until the Singapore GP to score a second victory after his first success of the year in Bahrain, the Red Bull driver believes that his team is much better prepared to face this new start to the season. The stability of the technical regulations actually offers simpler preparation for the teams, the main changes concerning the new tires and the limitation of the DRS in testing. “I would say we are in better shape.”, added the German. “We have more or less the same car as in Brazil, but more advanced. But personally, I can say that I am much more satisfied than last year. We still need a little more time and the good news is that we still have several days of testing left. »
