Vettel keeps a chance for the start

Reinvigorated by his first victory of the season last weekend at the Singapore GP, Sebastian Vettel will once again seek to gain the advantage over his teammate Charles Leclerc at the Russian GP.

The four-time world champion will start from 3rd place after being beaten by 23 thousandths by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), but it is the gap of 4 tenths with the first Ferrari which hurts the German.

“I'm not completely satisfied. I tried to get as much out of the car as possible but I couldn't close the gap enough.", he admitted.

“The start promises to be tense with the Mercedes because of this long straight. We'll have to get off to a good start, then we'll take care of the rest. It can have an advantage to start behind, even if I mainly say that because that’s my case”, added the Ferrari driver mischievously.

Sebastian Vettel took 3rd place last year in Sochi, a circuit on which he has never won.
