Sebastian Vettel returned to pole position at the Russian GP, his first since the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix, by setting the new lap record in Sochi with a time of 1’33”194.
If the Team Ferrari monopolized the front row of a Grand Prix for the first time in almost a decade, Sebastian Vettel almost lost pole by his teammate Kimi Räikkönen who failed by just 41 thousandths.
