Vettel: Verstappen is still too young

Max Verstappen made his debut in F1 convincing while the pilot Toro Rosso is just 18 years old. By securing fourth place twice in Hungary and in Austin (Texas), the Dutchman put himself in the spotlight and fueled speculation about a possible replacement for Kimi Räikkönen in the team. Team Ferrari.

Sebastian Vettel is nevertheless satisfied with his current teammate. “Kimi will be there next year. I don’t know about the future but I hope he stays”, indicated the Ferrari driver who was the only one to beat the Mercedes in 2015 in the Spanish newspaper Marcca.

The German remains skeptical about a possible tenure for Max Verstappen. “A lot of pilots are coming onto the scene, some younger than others. (Max Verstappen) is much younger than Michael (Schumacher) or myself when we started. It's always difficult to compare. We can try to do it with numbers, but people are different. Max has been brilliant in many races and deserves our congratulations, but he is still very young and has a long way to go.", underlined the four-time world champion.
