The dream of a lifetime. If Victor Martins started motorsport, it was to go Formula 1. The Habs are gradually getting closer to this goal. After being crowned champion of F3 last year, the member of theAlpine Academy is currently proving itself in F2 with ART Grand Prix.
If Formula 1 is not currently achievable for him, Victor Martins will still be entitled to a taste. Alpine has in fact confirmed that the Ile-de-France resident will board an F1 for the first time on May 8 during a private session at Monza.
« I'm really excited to get my first taste of F1 on Monday at Monza, rejoices the main person concerned. This will be my first close collaboration with the team Alpine on track and it's really special to have this first opportunity to get behind the wheel of an F1 car with them. My goal will be to have a lot of riding and to take full advantage of it. I am truly grateful for this first chance Alpine and the whole team. I had my seat molded and we are working on the simulator. It's very exciting, but now I'm looking forward to being on track and maximizing this experience to learn as much as possible. »
On the Lombard route next Monday, Victor Martins will take the wheel of the A521, car used during the 2021 season and with which Esteban Ocon won the Hungarian Grand Prix, the team's last F1 victory to date. Jack Doohan, another representative of the Academy in F2, will ride the next day.
