VIDEO – Hamilton's farewell to Mercedes: 'When you are successful, I will be very proud of you'

This time it's really over. Two weeks after his last Grand Prix in Formula 1 with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton concluded his farewell tour by visiting employees at the Brackley and Brixworth, in the United Kingdom. A necessary and necessarily moving passage for the seven-time world champion, who has spent his entire career with the brand with the Star in Formula 1 (McLaren-Mercedes from 2007 to 2012, then Mercedes from 2013 to 2024). On this occasion, all the members of the German team gathered to see their champion wear their colors one last time and to give him a final goodbye.

"I have been part of this team since 1997, when my victories in Formula 3 were powered by Mercedes, and every lap I've done in Formula 1 has been with all of you here, said Lewis Hamilton in front of hundreds of employees gathered in Brixworth, all equally moved by each other. The expertise of everyone on this team, the dedication and hard work, you have dedicated so much of your life to a common goal: winning world championships and races. I know you are all behind me and it has been an amazing journey. What a dream! I believe in you, I will continue to believe in you and when you achieve success, I will be very proud of you.

Now, Lewis Hamilton can fully concentrate on his future which will be written in red, with Ferrari. Officially, Lewis Hamilton will be able to join the Team January 1, 2025. The Italian team has already prepared a special program for the Briton, who will have the opportunity to drive old Ferraris – including the 2022 one – to acclimatize to the procedures, on the Fiorano circuit. Lewis Hamilton will then discover the Ferrari 2025 on February 19th with a first shakedown planned in Fiorano before flying to Bahrain for winter testing (February 26-28).
