Saturday morning, during the last free practice session of the British Grand Prix, Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso) was the cause of a red flag interruption. The New Zealander crashed out of the Silverstone circuit braking at Brooklands at high speed. The cause was a sudden breakage of the left front suspension:
More fear than harm for the outgoing champion of the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC), which was extracted from the car by his own means, before being taken as a precaution to the British route medical center for a complete assessment.
The Toro Rosso requires major repairs before the start of qualifying, scheduled for 15 p.m. French time.
