Need for Speed in real life. Lewis Hamilton took advantage of his presence in Japan, for the Grand Prix in Suzuka, to treat himself to a… sporting trip through the streets of Tokyo. Like Brian O'Conner and Don Toretto in the Fast and Furious saga, the seven-time British world champion took a little night trip in a Nissan Skyline R34. The R34, symbol of Japanese sportiness and one of the queens of drifting, is one of the favorite cars of automobile and tuning enthusiasts of the JDM (Japaense Domestic Market) wave.

In a video published on Instagram account, Lewis Hamilton is shown drifting in this sublime supercharged R34. “I only like driving on track, but I make exceptions” he added in description. The Briton caused his tires to smoke... and even his gearbox by doing a series of drifts and donuts. All the shots appear to have been recorded in a private space and closed to traffic. An adrenaline-filled ride for the pilot Mercedes on the eve of the Japanese Grand Prix, where he finished 5th on the Suzuka circuit.
