Accustomed to marketing operations of all types, Red Bull allowed Max Verstappen to appear behind the wheel of a car flocked with the No. 1 world champion Formula 1. The scene took place on the ice of Zell am See airport in Austria, where the Batavian, accompanied by Franky Zorn, European Ice Speedway champion, was able to take the wheel of an RB8 (single-seater used for the 2012 season) fitted with studded tires.
In this show as spectacular as it was freezing, Max Verstappen, who in addition to wearing the No. 1, wore his world champion helmet for the first time and was able to do a few laps on the ice where he seemed to be having a lot of fun .
«It was my first time on ice with a Formula 1 car. It was very interesting and it's quite slippery, he explained after this first experience. Everything is very cold, including the brakes, and race cars obviously aren't designed to drive on ice, which makes it even more difficult, but it was a lot of fun».
