Villeneuve and USGPE: no contact

Although he admits that he is "trying to be in F1" next season, Jacques Villeneuve, currently in Belgium to participate in the 24 Hours of Spa, assured that he has no contact with the American team USGPE.

The only meeting between Jacques Villeneuve and Peter Windsor, one of the founders of the future US GPE team, dates back to the Monaco Grand Prix. The two North Americans simply greeted each other without discussing other subjects.

Since then, the former World Champion has been trying to find a place in a starting grid which should be made up of 26 cars without having had any other contact with Windsor. The latter confirmed the information today. The fact remains that the future American team will have to find two drivers and that only one may be of American origin.
