Virgin: the VR-01 took to the track

Virgin Racing, despite some problems at the time of the online launch of the VR-01 on Wednesday, was able to take the track to its car this Thursday. It was Timo Glock who was chosen to be behind the wheel of the Virgin car, to give it its first laps at Silverstone. “ It was a great moment for me and the whole team to see the VR-01 come to life, recognized the German pilot. And it?s great to get back behind the wheel of a racing car. »

Virgin Racing, one of the four teams to enter Formula 1, is the first to unveil its car, while Lotus F1 should do the same next week but the mystery remains regarding USF1 and especially Campos. For Nick Wirth, technical director of Virgin Racing, this Silverstone shakedown is the reward for many efforts.

« After ten difficult months, our dedication and determination paid off, He says. Today (Thursday) we were just taking our first steps but the program will really start tomorrow (Friday) with a full day of evaluations with Timo (Glock) and Lucas (di Grassi). »
