High tensions between Vettel and Kvyat

Sebastian Vettel managed to move up to second position after clashing with teammate Kimi Räikkönen at the start of the Chinese Grand Prix. The four-time world champion had to take a turn to avoid the Red Bull by Daniil Kvyat who attacked the German from the inside.

This maneuver did not please the pilot of the Team Ferrari who confronted the Russian on the podium.

“Kvyat acted like a tornado. You were lucky this time. We would have held on if I had kept my line... I know it's racing, but you can damage cars attacking like crazy. It was Kimi (Räikkönen) who paid the price… I was lucky to be able to continue and that he (Iceman) could also stay in the race,” commented Sebastian Vettel.

Daniil Kvyat, who won the second podium of his career, defended himself against the former world champion. The Red Bull driver was not placed under investigation by the commissioners.

“I was doing my race… I couldn't see all three cars, I only have two eyes… I'm on the podium and you (addressing Sebastian Vettel) are too, so it's okay…”, replied the Russian on the podium before tempers calmed down. “I had a really good start (from sixth place). It was a risky move, I agree with Seb on this point. I will continue to take risks, everyone should expect that..."

Kimi Räikkönen was able to move up to fifth place by finishing behind Daniel Ricciardo.
