Webber: “I want to open the champagne”

Even though he was playing at home in Melbourne, Mark Webber was far from the infernal pace of his young teammate. While Sebastian Vettel took pole and victory, Mark Webber had to settle for a 3rd position on the grid and a 5th place at the finish. Disappointing. “I just couldn't keep up with the pace of those in front and that's not normal” he said, disappointed, upon arrival. Reb Bull cannot even catch up with the Ferrari de Fernando Alonso, yet lacking competitiveness in Albert-Park.

However, the pilot Red Bull hopes to quickly forget this disappointment, because he misses victory. “Malaysia is a sensational circuit, explains Mark Webber. There are always interesting races taking place there, especially with the uncertain weather. It's a big challenge for the drivers in terms of temperatures and we will need to see how the tires behave here. We gathered a lot of information during the first race and we expect the car to perform well at Sepang. I want to open the champagne and get on the podium. I think it will be an interesting race with the moving rear wing and the long straight. »
