Webber: “We must progress”

The dominance of Red Bull has been undermined since the last two races. Mark Webber only takes third place behind Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), winner of the race, and Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), last winner at Silverstone. Sebastian Vettel failed at the foot of the podium, a first this season for the Championship leader.

If the German still has a comfortable lead in the Championship, Mark Webber only has a five-point lead over Lewis Hamilton. The Australian can only recognize the return of competition. “We were outperformed today”, declared Mark Webber at the end of the race. “I had a good race, but my opponents had better relays. I am disappointed not to have imposed myself. »

The Red Bull driver hopes to see his team regain control as quickly as possible, after having suffered two failures against competing teams. “We have to improve because we were at our limit today”, adds Mark Webber. “Victory now requires very good performances. We were close in terms of performance with Sebastian (Vettel), but it was the competition that progressed. »
