Webber on his cloud

Mark, two days after your victory, are you still on cloud nine?

Absolutely. It was a very special day. Personally, it's very good for me but we didn't forget that the team had achieved another double. This is also very important. We scored maximum points in the last two races; we couldn't do better.

Saturday evening after having achieved pole, you said: ?now we are going to try to scare away this bad luck which is pursuing us?. Is the feeling of relief more important than that of having won?

Probably yes. I have competed in many races and in the vast majority I have not had the chance to win because the car was not ready for it. There is also a man called Michael Schumacher and it caused me worry. There was a time when you had to be in a Ferrari or an McLaren to win. Now there are other teams and I am very happy with the situation with Red Bull Racing who is in a position to fight for a podium and a victory at each Grand Prix.

Some drivers like Mansell and Hakkinen for example, took a long time to win their first race but after that they were on track. Do you think you have opened a door and that winning will now be easier?

I have now managed to take a pole position and a victory, that can only help me. It can't be negative, that's for sure. Leading and not being the follower was a first for me. I hope that it will continue even if it is clear that there will be difficult races in the future.

You attended the debriefing at the Red Bull factory on Monday. What kind of welcome did you receive?

It was incredible. As an introduction, they played the radio recording again as I crossed the finish line. I didn't realize I had screamed for so long! There are still many people working at the factory who were already there at the time of Jaguar. There are also some new faces. As a team, including people from Renault, everything that Dietrich (Mateschitz) did as well as Adrian (Newey) and Christian (Horner), we managed to open the doors to success.
We know we can expect to compete this season with other teams. This is the very essence of this sport and we are prepared for it.
