Webber: Verstappen messy in his preparation

Mark Webber analyzed the situation of Max Verstappen, young star of the F1 who has been attracting attention over the last two seasons. The former resident of Red Bull Racing seems to have an impartial judgment in estimating that the Dutchman still has progress to make in certain sectors even if he recognizes the talent of the latter.

“Both Red Bull drivers are doing very well this year, but Max has probably been a little confused in terms of race preparation, comments Max Verstappen on the Red Bull website. He often goes off the track on Fridays and Saturdays, which puts pressure on the mechanics to keep the car be ready. »

“I would like to see him stay on the track more, but he attacks at the limit, nuance Daniel Ricciardo. He doesn't make many mistakes on Sundays anymore. He frequently retired due to reliability issues, costing him many points. »

Max Verstappen, 6th in the Championship, is 50 points behind his teammate Daniel Ricciardo.

“Daniel is really tough on Sundays. He is the most reliable driver in F1. He always manages to make the most of what he has and it's hard to see how he could do more, assures Mark Webber. We all expected great things from the car, but there was some catching up to do. We unfortunately signed a sort of breakage record with Renault. Maybe Red Bull needs to make a car a second faster than everyone else. »
