Whitmarsh: China smiles on McLaren

The MP4-27 seems to be the car the most efficient at the start of the season, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button having monopolized the first row of both starting grids at the start of the season. However, the various racing incidents did not always work in favor of the two Britons. But with three victories won in four editions of the Chinese Grand Prix, Martin Whitmarsh remains optimistic and expects to see a hierarchy emerge more clearly in the leading pack.

“The Chinese Grand Prix is an event that usually suits us very well”, recognized the director of McLaren. “In each of our victories, Jenson and Lewis have not made the slightest mistake and we will go to Shanghai with the same objective. If our feelings are mixed at the moment given that we have only won one victory after having taken the front row twice, our entire team is very motivated by our pace displayed during these first two races of the season. We must not make mistakes because we know that our competitors did not sit idle during the break. We have also been very busy and have taken nothing for granted. I am sure that the hierarchy will emerge more clearly next weekend and I am convinced that it will still be very competitive up front. »
