Williams confirms Barrichello and Hülkenberg

The stable Williams will start from scratch in 2010: new engine, new drivers. As had been anticipated for several weeks, the Grove team will rely in 2010 on a duo of drivers made up of an experienced man and a beginner. In the role of the solid pilot of Formula 1, Rubens Barrichello. The veteran on the grid, who was almost replaced at Brawn GP by Bruno Senna at the start of 2009, will extend his adventure in F1: Rubio is not satisfied.

The Brazilian will support the very promising Nico Hulkenberg, who will take his first steps in F1. Champion of Formula 3 Euro Series in 2008, of GP2 Series in 2009, the young German arrives in F1 with a full CV, while until then he held the position of third driver at Williams.

« Rubens needs no introduction, says Frank Williams. He is the most experienced driver in Formula 1, but also a passionate and talented driver who fought for the drivers' championship this year. Nico Hülkenberg won the GP2 championship this season as a rookie and had already won the F3 Euro Series, A1 GP and Formula BMW Germany. »

« Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima remain our drivers until the end of 2009 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their help to the team. Nico and Kazuki represented the team with dedication and we wish them much success in their future projects. »

Nico Rosberg is leaving for Brawn GP, Williams has therefore bet on a complementary crew and hopes to play the leading roles next year. Frank Williams will have to count on the unaltered motivation of Rubens Barrichello, the positive enthusiasm of Nico Hülkenberg and the reliability of the Cosworth engines, a great unknown at present.
