Williams in turn unveils its 1 F2022: the FW44

Williams presented this Tuesday, February 15 at 14 p.m. the 2022 livery of the car which will be led by Nicholas latifi and Alex Albon this season. The British team thus follows the unveiling of the new liveries of Haas February 4, Red Bull February 9, Aston Martin et McLaren le 10 February et Alpha Tauri February 14th. Here are the colors of the so-called FW44. A single-seater which is tinged with a nuanced navy blue dress with red edging, very different from the blue and white of the previous season.

Duracell notably arrives as a sponsor on this new livery, unveiled on an exhibition car. The name and logo of the company specializing in electric cells and batteries will appear on the Williams this season, but also the drivers' equipment and suits, as part of a multi-year contract. “I am so proud of this partnership between Williams and Duracell, and I am grateful for the trust they have placed in us, said Jost Capito, team principal and CEO of Williams Racing on this subject. Having their name on the side of our car is a highlight for me, as my nickname for 30 years has been Duracell – because I never run out of energy. I am very looking forward to working together. »

“It was a great 2021 season, especially the podium (obtained by George Russell in Spa. Ed.) which boosted the morale of everyone in the team, added Jost Capito on the sidelines of the presentation. For 2022, the regulations are really new and designed so that the cars can follow each other. We'll see what happens. » "It's a new look to start the new era of F1, added Nicholas Latifi, who said he was a big fan of this new livery. I am impatient of get back behind the wheel at the Barcelona test, push and see what the car can do. Pre-season always seems quite long, but it has been very busy and there has been a great build-up at the factory with a lot of hard work from everyone. »

“The FW44 livery is clean and simple, judge Alex Albon, back in Formula 1 after a year of absence. I like that we went for more blue with the dynamic diamond finish and a little red. The next Barcelona track session will be about making sure we are efficient with our time to best ensure we have a competitive package ahead of the season. We don't have many days until our first race and so we need to quickly understand what the car's strong points are and where we need to make improvements. »
