Williams backtracks

After a disastrous Monaco Grand Prix, with the two violent off-track exits of Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg, the stable Williams worked hard to find the reasons for these two accidents. And it seems that these could be the new front wings developed by the British team. In fact, the two FW 32s should return to their old aerodynamic configuration this weekend during the Turkish round of the world championship. F1.

“All the parts that needed to be changed have been changed, apart from the front wings for which we need more time, says Sam Michael. We have to go back to the previous specification for the race and wait for Montreal to adopt this new evolution.”

Apart from these aerodynamic concerns, the British team hopes that Cosworth will succeed in improving the performance of its V8 in order to reach a new level.

“Cosworth has worked hard on the issues we have been talking about since the start of the season, and we have already received some indications in the right direction, continues the Technical Director. Istanbul will be an opportunity for us to test these solutions on the track. In accordance with our development program, the two FW32s will also receive new brakes as well as some mechanical upgrades.”

Despite a more than disastrous Sunday, the FW32s showed good spirits during qualifying on the Saturday preceding the Monaco Grand Prix, Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hülkenberg managing to respectively place their car in 9th and 11th position on the starting grid. Let us therefore wish Sir Frank and his men that the developments made at Istanbul Park will allow the Brazilian and the German to be able to get closer to the Force India teams and Renault.
