Williams will miss Monday in Barcelona

2019 is not starting off in the best way for Williams Racing. The British team confirmed this morning thatit will delay its entry into action at the Barcelona winter testing until Tuesday morning.

In question, the desire to best prepare the FW42 – Mercedes for these first runs. “ Unfortunately, we had to delay the start of our pre-season testing in Barcelona until Tuesday morning, comments Claire Williams, Team Principal-Deputy.

It has been an extremely busy winter at Grove and we have been preparing the FW42 for the upcoming season. Despite all efforts, we need more time before it is ready to operate.

Our top priority is to always make sure the car is the best it can be on the track and sometimes that takes longer than expected. It's clearly not ideal, but it's not the end of the world either.

We will obviously have our work cut out to recover the lost time, but we still have seven days of testing and we will maximize this time to prepare the car for the first race. »

Williams, who also canceled a day of filming, did not modify the schedule of its drivers for the three remaining days with the following schedule: Robert Kubica (Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning) / George Russell (Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon) / Nicholas latifi (Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning).
